Zuaya

OPENED 136 DAYS AGO

Latin American restaurant Zuaya arrives on Kensington High Street.

With chef Francisco Lafee on board – who has worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants in London – Zuaya brings elevated Latin American fare to Kensington – not that this area needs another upscale restaurant… have you been to Japanese fine dining destination Akira yet?

Zuaya - Mousse de Guava

The Spot:

Aiming to transport you to the Amazon, Zuaya features greenery and hanging plants above the green marble bar, while live jazz and DJs promise to bring a buzzing atmosphere on the weekends.

Zuaya - Corn Brulee

The Food:

Chef Lafee combines flavours from Argentina, Mexico and Peru, serving experimental dishes that are made for sharing. All beautifully presented, highlights include the “Zuaya Ceviche” (wild turbot infused with various tropical fruits), a purple taco with slow cooked lamb and smoked cinnamon pineapple, and quinoa caprese with yellow and purple mash potato. Desserts are just as exotic – think homemade avocado ice cream, egg yolk flan and dulce de leche with guava milk ice cream.

The Drinks:

Zuaya serves inventive cocktails, including the “Azteca Garden”, made with Bourbon, fig jam and Limoncello, and the “Strawberry Almeda” with gin and hibiscus syrup.

The Damage:

Dishes vary between £12 and £36; cocktails cost around £13.
