London’s Top 5 Openings in July 2018
July was a busy month for London’s ever-diverse food and drink scene. This is our round-up of the most significant openings…
5. Night Tales Bohemia Place
London’s celebrated pop-up Night Tales found a permanent home in Hackney’s Bohemia Place. They’ve transformed two railway arches into a music destination with a massive sun-drenched garden, a cocktail bar specializing in Mezcals, a beer and prosecco shack, and last but not least, a food court. As you drink and dance the night away, you can tuck into Japanese bites by newcomer Fat Baby or enjoy a long-time favourite: Sons of Slice’s New York-style pizza.

Yes, you could easily spend all day here…

3. Soane’s Kitchen
The founder of catering company Social Pantry launched a new restaurant and café, Soane’s Kitchen. It’s located in Walpole Park’s iconic Pitzhanger Manor House, which is reason enough to visit this newcomer, but the menu is just as impressive. Focusing on seasonality, current options include grilled baby carrots with ricotta, bavette steak with carrot top pesto, and sweet potato pancakes for brunch.

2. Helix and Iris
The top of the Gherkin opened its doors to the public for the first time, giving you 360-degree views of the city with London-inspired tipples. Iris is definitely worth meeting, but so is Helix, located one floor below, which showcases British cooking with seasonal ingredients. Think Rhug Estate Welsh lamb, English asparagus with Dorset crab, and lemon tart for dessert.
