We know you’ll be fed up of lists or anything remotely related to Christmas at this point, but for one last hurrah here’s five Christmas shows that are definitely worth a whirl before they are gone.

Million Dollar Quartet

This Christmas hear the story and sounds of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. The minds behind this foot tappin’ musical were inspired by the recording session that brought together these rock ‘n’ roll grandees for the first and only time. Not much more to say but get this in your diary.

Nutcracker

Peter Wright’s enchanting production of The Nutcracker is back with a bang in Covent Garden. You can’t get more festive than this when it comes Clara and Hans-Peter on their enchanting journey to the Kingdom of Sweets. If you can’t make the show, swing by Liberty and check out their Nutcracker-inspired window display as a much cheaper consolation.

A Christmas Carol with Simon Callow

Simon Callow is back baby. He’s returned to the West End in his one-man version of Charles Dickens’ festive staple A Christmas Carol. For a strictly limited season, the production is running at the Arts Theatre and is based on Dickens’ own performance of the novel and has been created by director-designer Tom Cairns.

Cinderella

Pantomime comes home to the London Palladium this Christmas in a dazzling must-see new production. 5 Weeks Only from 10 December. With a TV-strong cast, this classic panto features some eye-popping costumes and can get the most cynical of souls in the festive mood.

Potted Panto

CBBC presenters Dan and Jeff bring Potted Panto to the West End’s Garrick Theatre, for a fantastically festive season. Dan and Jeff recreate some Christmas favourites, including a 3D Cinderella starring the world’s first ever Fairy Godchicken, Dick Whittington and Jeff the London Mayor, Aladdin, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Definitely a winner for the kids this Christmas, and they won’t be leaving disappointed.
