The Meet

OPENED 25 DAYS AGO

Vegan pop-up The Meet arrives in Clapham.

As London’s vegan scene continues to thrive with the recent opening of Genesis in Shoreditch, new establishment The Meet has found a gap in the market by offering creative vegan dishes served alongside an eclectic mix of vegan cocktails.

The Meet - Threes a Party

The Spot:

Revamping popular comfort food dishes from burgers to chicken wings into plant-based alternatives, South Londoner and former executive chef of the popular The Jam Tree restaurant – Dominic Taylor – takes over Fu Manchu with Clapham’s first ever vegan pop-up. Tempting you with more than just a mouthwatering menu, The Meet is offering 50% off your food until November 21.

The Meet - Salad

The Food:

Catering to a spectrum of tastes from hardened vegans to those fancying a healthier take on often indulgent dishes, The Meet recreates typical comfort-food meals using meat-free ingredients such as jackfruit and seiten. Expect a selection of guilt-free sharing plates and late-night bites; items on the menu include their ‘Jerkin’ Around’ wrap containing jerk-style organic tofu, pineapple salsa and scotch bonnet mayonnaise, and their ‘What a Mess’ chilli using smokey black bean, plantain and jackfruit served messily with chips and cheese.

The Meet - dessert

If it’s anything like chef Dominic’s previous restaurant the Jam Tree, it seems natural that they would couple this with a vegan bottomless brunch on weekends, and a hearty roast on Sundays to cure the inevitable hangover.

The Drinks:

With vegan food obviously comes vegan drinks, and for something a little lighter, try their cold-press juices. But their pièce de résistance comes from their exuberant and varied cocktail list with atypical drinks such as a rhubarb and vanilla custard martini (Finlandia vodka, rhubarb syrup, custard flavours, cashew milk, and Ms Better’s Miraculous Foamer); not what you’d expect to find at a London pop-up.

The Meet - Vegroni

The Damage:

Main dishes cost around £8-12, whilst cocktails are around the £10 mark.

In a Nutshell:

For comfort food with a vegan twist, The Meet is sure to prove a popular spot for vegans as well as those who are keen to try something different.
