Spiritland Royal Festival Hall

OPENED 136 DAYS AGO

London’s multifunctional music destination Spiritland launches a new restaurant in the Royal Festival Hall.

As if Spiritland wasn’t doing enough already at their King’s Cross location (read: café, bar, radio studio and listening lounge), they’ve outdone themselves with an even bigger project inside the Southbank Centre.

Spiritland Royal Festival Hall - Sweet and sour pork belly

The Spot:

Pack your bags and grab your passport – we’re spending the entire weekend at Spiritland. Providing enough entertainment up until the small hours, the dining room features an open grill and oyster bar, the world’s best bespoke audio equipment and an ever-rotating line-up of performances. All of that, while sitting comfortably in your rounded leather booth.

The Food:

Spiritland has appointed Moondog as head chef, known for cooking up Mayfair’s fiercely fusional dishes at The Providores & Tapa Room. Expect the same adventurous approach, with dishes including kimchi rosti with pulled pork; carrot m’hanncha (a snake-shaped pie filled with spinach, pine nuts and raisins), and sweet and sour pork belly with octopus and coconut. For breakfast, swap your usual Full English for a plate of grilled ham, fried duck egg and pink fir potato crisps.

The Drinks:

Spiritland certainly doesn’t want us to leave anytime soon, serving a never-ending list of wine, champagne and cocktails (both classic and creative). Let’s start with a Milk Punch please (a sweet concoction made with Cognac, apple, Falernum, honey, nutmeg and cinnamon).

The Damage:

Breakfast is priced at around £7; dinner ranges from £15 to £25.

In a Nutshell:

A menu packed with dishes usually unheard of and a series of intimate talks by musical creatives, Spiritland Royal Festival Hall is definitely one of London’s most unique dining experiences.
