#GreyGoosePresents: Pour L’Amour du Chocolat

A SCREENING OF CHOCOLAT BY ROOFTOP FILM CLUB AT THE ROOF GARDENS IN KENSINGTON

Hello London,

We’ve got a rather special event to let you in on: an evening where open-air cinema, a chocolate tasting menu and vodka combine like never before. It’s taking place at our favourite flamingo-spotting venue, The Roof Gardens on Kensington High Street, on 27th September. Here’s the lowdown.

Following on from the hugely popular Amelie event with Rooftop Film club, our friends at Grey Goose Vodka have got a new treat in store. This time, they have chosen the 2001 ward-winning French film, Chocolat, as the perfect cinematic pairing to a tasting menu that shows off the versatility of chocolate and vodka — think quail with a chocolate sauce and a Grey Goose hot chocolate with chilli.

At the end of the meal, guests will be served the perfect third course to enjoy during the film: a Café Gourmand with a Grey Goose twist. For the uninitiated, a Café Gourmand is where a coffee or digestif is served alongside a selection of petit fours — or three if you prefer a ménage à trois… And if you take that to the next level, you combine the coffee with one of four flavours of Grey Goose to create an espresso martini available for this night only. Mais oui mes amis

Ahh, the espresso martini.  One of the great cocktails. It really is damned delicious And — foodie tip coming up — by making it with a ‘short’ ristretto espresso rather than a longer ‘shot’, the coffee has fewer bitter notes, making it the perfect partner to the mini desserts served with a Café Gourmand.

As with any great drink or dish, the end result is only as good as the quality of the ingredients, and Grey Goose has brought in some of the best artists from the worlds of coffee and patisserie. This is a culinary A-Team and it is therefore entirely appropriate that chocolatier extraordinaire Paul A. Young is heading up the kitchen on the night.

Tickets include: a complimentary Grey Goose Le Fizz cocktail, a choice of Grey Goose Espresso Martinis, three chocolate-based courses inspired by the film, and a chocolate gift.

The film Chocolat is all about changing preconceived perceptions through the sheer quality of the product, something that Grey Goose founder Francois Thibault has also achieved.

This #GreyGoosePresents evening is going to open your eyes to some flavour combinations that will make those flamingos seem pretty run of the mill.

Enjoy an autumn of great taste with #GreyGooseVodka.
