Chef Andrew Clarke and Jackson Boxer launch a seafood restaurant in Notting Hill: Orasay.

Orasay is the third project from the dynamic duo, whose portfolio includes the hugely successful spots St Leonards and Brunswick House.

The Spot:

Situated on Kensington Park Road, Orasay looks as if it’s been in Notting Hill forever. The 50-seat space is outfitted with reclaimed antique French oak and vintage-looking washed walls, complete with a neutral palate of pale tones throughout. The ambiance, warm and welcoming, lends itself perfect for date night (that, and an impressive wine list).

The Food:

Jackson Boxer is overseeing the kitchen, bringing you a menu centred around seafood like oysters with elderflower champagne, scallops with celeriac and shiitake mushrooms, and grilled cod wrapped in oyster leaf. Everything is prepared using classic techniques of European cuisine, complemented by vegetables from their organic farm in West Sussex.

The Drinks:

Drinks are certainly no afterthought: Orasay serves a 60-strong wine list with the use of taps and kegs, ensuring optimal quality while minimising your carbon footprint (we’re using this as an excuse now). If you don’t mind splurging a little, there’s also an ever-changing list of rare bottles straight from Jackson’s personal cellar.

The Damage:

Dishes are priced at around £8-£24; wines range from £25 to £125.

With Andrew Clarke and Jackson Boxer behind the whole project, and a private room in the works, Orasay is likely to become a new favourite for fine dining.
