Meatliquor King’s Cross

OPENED 17 DAYS AGO

Meatliquor celebrate their thirteenth opening today with a new site at King’s Cross. It’s open for drinks only until this Friday, 4th August.

The rapidly expanding chain has been hugely influential on the London burger scene and continues to draw in the crowds with a signature range of American-style sandwiches and sides.

The Spot:

Meatliquor sites are always designed with the surroundings in mind and so this time staff will serve food and drinks from a replica train carriage, a nod to the major transport links nearby.

The decor is classic Meatliquor style, with plenty of attitude and edgy, bold graphic artwork from ilovedust.

The Food:

You know the score by now and if you don’t, well, where have you been? You’ll be needing to try the green chilli cheeseburger because that, along with the Dead Hippie, basically changed London’s burger game.

Buffalo wings are essential, of course, made with co-founder Yianni Papoutsis’ own recipe hot sauce and BUTTER, and we recommend a side of giant onion rings.

Also, do not ever forget how good the chilli dog or the Tower Block Burger are (yes, the latter is a KFC rip off but so much better).

The Drinks:

You won’t go wrong sinking a couple of House Grogs but just don’t hold us responsible for anything you find yourself doing afterwards; it’s strong stuff.

The New Cross Negroni is a must if you’re into them – it’s a classic from the days when they were a pop-up dive bar (the #meateasy) above a pub in New Cross.

All the favourites are here though: beer, picklebacks, Jaegermeister…

The Damage:

The burgers are all still under a tenner (£8-8.75) and sides like fries £3.25-6 depending on toppings. A cocktail will set you back an average £8.50 and a beer around £4.

In a Nutshell:

Meatliquor is an important chain in London. They made a huge impact with their twists on American classics and their attention to detail is admirable. We support them every time they open a new site because it’s always good to know where your next fix is coming from.
