Lord of The Wings

OPENED 35 DAYS AGO

Lord of The Wings is in residency at The House of Hammerton, Islington, until 17th September, serving Buffalo and barbecue wings.

These guys know their wings and are committed to bringing an authentic version of this American staple to north London.

The Spot:

The House of Hammerton is a recently opened pub from Hammerton Brewery, less than a mile down the road.

Lord of The Wings

The Food:

It’s all about the wings, obviously, which are made with good quality free-range birds. You can then choose from five regional sauces including the classic Buffalo (traditionally made with hot sauce and butter) then Kansas City, Memphis, South Carolina or Texas styles, so we’re off into barbecue sauce territory once you move away from the classic hot wing. They come with celery and blue cheese sauce, as is right and proper (at least it is with Buffalo wings) and you can add sides like… maybe some more blue cheese sauce, some slaw and then some more blue cheese sauce. Did we mention we like blue cheese sauce?

The Drinks:

The House of Hammerton is a craft beer pub with 20 keg and 4 cask lines.

Lord of the wings fries

The Damage:

A medium portion of wings is £7 and large, £13. Sides are £4-5.

In a Nutshell:

If you’re looking for proper Buffalo wings in London then get yourself to this pub residency pronto – they’re only there for a month or so! It would also be rude not to work your way through all the other sauces.
