Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge opens his first London restaurant, Kerridge’s Bar & Grill.

Chef Tom Kerridge has a pretty impressive resumé. Are you ready? His Buckinghamshire pub (The Hand and Flowers) was the first pub to win two Michelin stars; Marlow pub The Coach followed suit with one Michelin star; and he has rightly been awarded with the coveted “Catey Chef Award 2017”. The only thing missing was his very own restaurant in the city; what better place than at the grand Corinthia Hotel London.

The Spot:

The space has been given a glamorous upgrade to suit the needs of this newcomer, channeling a dark green and burgundy colour palette. Luxury lounge seats and curved banquettes might make it difficult to leave the bar, but that would be a shame, because the dining room is definitely the main event. That’s where you’ll find the eye-catching rotisserie, roasting large joints of meat, fish and vegetables, ready to get your taste buds tingling for an evening of fine British fare.

The Food:

Together with chef Nick Beardshaw, Tom Kerridge reimagines classic British comfort food by giving them a touch of Michelin magic. That means your fish and chips features nothing but the finest British fish; dry-aged rib beef comes with ox cheek bordelaise and gherkin ketchup; and dark chocolate pudding gets elevated with crystalised malt biscuit.

The Drinks:

Drinks are definitely not an after thought. Kerridge’s Bar & Grill offers a long list of international wines and Champagne, cocktails, and ales and lagers. If you secure a seat at the marble bar, you can even enjoy your drink with small nibbles like sausage rolls and Scotch eggs – though it promises to be a bit different than what you have at home.

The Damage:

Starters are priced at around £9.50, mains average at £21.50 and desserts are all £13.50.

It’s about time the Michelin-starred chef brought his celebrated dishes to London, and there’s no doubt Kerridge’s Bar & Grill will fill up fast with locals and travelers alike.
