KERB Noshville

OPENED 82 DAYS AGO

This event has now ended.

Street food market organisers KERB are throwing a two-day festival in honour of American food and drink, in King’s Cross.

They’ve teamed up with the Maverick Americana festival, to transform this corner of north London into a nosh-slinging hoedown.

The Spot:

It’s happening at Granary Square, a well-worn KERB hotspot near the canal at King’s Cross. If you can’t picture it, this is the square with the jumping fountains – perfect for cooling off when you’re done eating. What do you mean that’s just for the kids?

Chicken Burger

The Food:

A selection of street food traders have put on American specials for the event. Project Sandwich is doing something called the El Jefe Revisited, which involves chopped, smoked pork shoulder and jalapeno, and a Philly cheesesteak with hot gumbo gravy and Creole aioli dip.

Other Side Fried are stuffing crisp birds into buns Nashville hot chicken style, with hot sauce and pickles, while Oh My Dog’s hot dogs come New Yorker style with a side of Tater Tots. There’s also smashed maple bacon glazed tacos from Taco Dave, New Orleans fish fry baskets from Hank’s and Big Mac mini burgers loaded with mac ‘n’ cheese from Anna Mae’s.

Fancy somethin’ sweet? Vicky’s Doughnuts have got you covered with their Snickers filled, maple pecan glazed and cinnamon crumbled apple pie.

Brisket

The Drinks:

The KERB bar is open, serving Dolly Parton’s Melon Margaritas, Jack’s Cajun Lemonade, Noshville Picklebacks and loads of craft beers. There’s also a selection of hand squeezed sodas from the Hackney-based Square Root Sodas. It’s fair to say they’ve gone strong on the theme.

The Damage:

You know the score – it’s street food and cocktails, it’s all going to be pretty much under a tenner.

In a Nutshell:

KERB are at it again – this is a great line-up of street food traders collected together to celebrate the food of the US, along with live bluegrass and roots music, a bucking bronco, line dancing and a hot dog eating competition. Yee haw!
