Foxlow Soho

OPENED 156 DAYS AGO

Foxlow Soho is the newest restaurant from the Foxlow Group, serving crowd-pleasing comfort food including steak and fried chicken.

Foxlow is known for its reasonably priced, well-sourced meat and cocktails.

The Spot:

This new branch just off Golden Square looks rather slick, with blue leather banquette seats and tiles, and classic American diner styling. A central bar is a focus point for the room and there’s window seating, perfect for solo diners or those who fancy a spot of people watching over lunch.

The Food:

This is seasonal comfort food, so starters include dishes such as house-cured salmon and grilled salt marsh lamb. Mains are big and generally meaty, so there’s fried chicken, a Foxlow burger, or steak – it’s not one for the vegetarians. The steak menu is short, featuring reasonably priced cuts such as hangar and flat iron, and there’s a selection of larger, sharing cuts on a blackboard menu. Steak lovers are well served at brunch too when your chosen hunk of protein comes topped with eggs.

The Drinks:

Foxlow restaurants are owned by the Hawksmoor Group so that means cocktails are always excellent and fans of the steak restaurants will recognise some drinks from the menu, including the famous Shaky Pete’s Ginger Brew, a beer mug of gin, ginger, lemon and London Pride. There are beers, ciders and wine too of course, but it would very remiss not to have at least one cocktail while you’re there.

The Damage:

Starters and snacks at Foxlow range from £3 – £9, while main courses start at around £12, rising to £23 for a sirloin steak (larger sharing cuts are individually priced). Cocktails come in at around the £8 mark and there are lots of wines to choose from under £30.

In a Nutshell:

Foxlow is basically a more affordable version of Hawksmoor, which is obviously a brilliant thing.
