Flat Iron London Bridge

OPENED 154 DAYS AGO

London’s sought-after steakhouse Flat Iron arrives at London Bridge.

After bringing Flat Iron to King’s Cross not too long ago, the steakhouse expands its empire yet again with a new location at London Bridge.

The Spot:

Brought to you by self-taught butcher Charlie Carroll, Flat Iron has gone from a humble summer pop-up to a steakhouse staple with seven sites across London. The secret to its success is of course, the flat iron steak, a tender cut from the beef shoulder paired with an affordable price tag.

The new branch at London Bridge is designed by no other than AVROKO (the team behind New York’s iconic Saxon & Parole), combining warm wooden furnishings with modern elements of brass and zinc. There’s also an exciting fountain, which we will discuss under Drinks.

The Food:

Even though Flat Iron has become a booming business in London, the menu remains pretty much the same to this day. The star of the show (the flat iron steak) can be paired with the usual suspects of beef-dripping chips or greens, while dessert takes an unexpected turn. Unique to their London Bridge location, a show-stopping Baked Alaska gets blowtorched at your table for a glorious, golden-brown finish.

The Drinks:

You’re here for the fountain, a pour-your-own blood orange Negroni fountain to be precise. Flat Iron’s take on the classic combines a traditional Negroni mix with Tarocco blood orange juice and cold-extracted Israeli blood orange oil. Call your friends, now.

The Damage:

The flat iron steak is priced at £10; chips are £2.25.

In a Nutshell:

While Flat Iron continues to expand with the same mission in mind, the new branch at London Bridge channels a more tavern-like ambiance with some undeniably fun additions thrown in. But do we really need to say any more than Negroni fountain?
