Dirty Bones Shoreditch

OPENED September 07th, 2016

Dirty Bones are surprising Londoners with a new diverse menu for their Shoreditch launch. While the New York-inspired comfort food will still take its lead from wings, ribs and burgers, a contemporary all day menu has been launched too. Shoreditch is the third location for the London-based company, who already run their now heritage restaurants in Kensington and Soho.

A nod to ever-evolving Shoreditch, Dirty Bones challenge their popular menu with a new ‘Dirty Roast’ on Sundays. And a weekday breakfast menu will buffer lunch dishes with experimental twists. New lunchtime indulgences include the cheeseburger dumplings, made of homemade gyoza, stuffed with aged burger mince and melted cheese.

Dishes not to miss include the Dirty Mary Salad – the aforementioned new experimental lunch salad, inspired by Dirty Bones’s most popular cocktail. And Brisket & Ox Cheek is the alternative to traditional chicken and beef sunday lunches. If you’re going earlier for ‘dirty’ breakfast, there’s a selection of ‘Shoreditch crumpets’ coated in lavish meat toppings like short rib and smoked haddock.

A signature Shoreditch main course dish is the slow-cooked lamb ribs with tangy chimichurri, served all day, but likely to be popular night.

Dirty Bones have leased a Grade 11 listed space in central Shoreditch for the opening, so expect the interior to be in ode to the past. Large, airy spaces have been designed by Studio Lots & More and designer Gina Brennan to allow original fixtures and fittings room to breathe. New York-inspired interiors fit for a modern age counteract that, and statement items include brass bar tops. And there’s velvet seating to allow the raw environment to be admired with comfort. As at their other venues, live DJs will play at night to introduce a relaxed party vibe, where cocktails take over from food.

Having been open years elsewhere, it’s a wonder this group – that is inevitably a good Shoreditch fit – took so long to migrate east.
