Dickie’s Bar is a new bar from chef Richard Corrigan with a focus on seasonal cocktails, open in Mayfair.

Richard is working with Gregory Buda from The Dead Rabbit in New York, which won the title of World’s Best Bar at the World’s 50 Best in 2016.

The Spot:

It’s at Richard’s restaurant, Corrigan’s Mayfair although you’ll need to look for the separate side entrance. Inside, it’s similar to the restaurant with decor that brings to mind a hunting lodge, albeit a very swanky one. There’s lots of velvet, marble and copper plus, of course, antlers.

The Drinks:

There’s a big emphasis on seasonal produce here which is used to make house sodas and tinctures and it’s the very pick of the crop, delivered daily from Richard’s own garden and farm, Virginia Park Lodge.

Another biggie behind the bar is Whiskey (Irish, of course), with cocktails like The Professional Stalker combining Power’s John’’s Lane 12-year-old Irish Whiskey, Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, fig, allspice and Jerry Thomas Decanter Bitters – a dark and moody little number.

The Damage:

This is Mayfair, and the goods are high quality, so it won’t surprise you to learn that it ain’t cheap. A cocktail will cost around £15.

In a Nutshell:

This is a classy joint from a chef known for his love of high quality seasonal British and Irish produce. Corrigan is a high-spirited, generous guy with a real sense of fun when it comes to food, something which always shines through on his plates. We’re confident that drinks will be the same.
