Clerkenwell Grind

OPENED November 30th, 2016

Clerkenwell Grind is an all-day restaurant and late-night bar, one of the best new places to eat and drink in East London.

The Grind team has had several successful launches across London, and their new spot in Clerkenwell is testament to how much the chain has grown since opening its first location five years ago. They have a branch in Soho and another at London Bridge, among others.

Clerkenwell Grind is only minutes away from their first site, Shoreditch Grind, but the two establishments are hardly alike. Where the Shoreditch branch is a coffee shop first and foremost, Clerkenwell Grind’s focus is food.

All-Day Dining for Any Occasion

Dishes at Clerkenwell Grind range from classic to creative. For breakfast, you’ll find scrambled eggs and toast listed right alongside mushroom croquettes with kimchi, and eggs with beetroot-cured salmon. Dinner options include everything from scallops to chicken to cheeseburgers. Even the pickiest eaters will find something to love on this extensive menu.

The lower floor houses a club/bar with a unique cocktail menu and a soundtrack created at the Shoreditch Grind recording studio. Can’t choose between coffee and cocktails? Grind’s popular Espresso Martini might be the answer to your prayers.

Dinner & Drinks in the East End

“Clerkenwell Grind is our new perfect night out,” said co-founder David Abrahamovitch. “Properly good cocktails in the bar upstairs, dinner with friends in the dining room next door, and then downstairs to carry on in one of the few spaces left in London that has a great sound system and a late license, but no one makes you pay to get in or buy anything with a sparkler in it.”

Clerkenwell Grind is housed in a Grade II listed building. The interior spans two floors and boasts pink velvet booths and marble bars. Grind’s signature neon sign, which was designed by tattoo artist Curt Montgomery, is on full display.

East London is brimming with things to do and see. Find more places to go out in London on our Just Opened Map.
