Chick ‘n’ Sours Brixton Pop-Up

OPENED 98 DAYS AGO

Legendary fried chicken restaurant Chick’n’Sours is popping up in Brixton for one month only.

The aim is for this to be both a restaurant and development kitchen so an ever-changing menu will keep customers coming back for more; we’re very happy to see some of London’s best fried chicken arrive down south.

The Spot:

The idea is that this pop-up on Brixton’s Coldharbour Lane will shape dishes at the new larger, Haggerston site, which is currently being refurbished.

The Food:

You’ll find some of the Chick ‘n’ Sours classics you know and love like the Disco Wings, that incredible Szechuan aubergine (seriously, you must order it if you haven’t already) and The K Pop (a fried chicken sandwich with Gochujang mayo and Asian ‘slaw).

Then, there will be lots of exciting new dishes coming out of that development kitchen where Carl Clarke and David Wolanski will be frying up a storm. How do you fancy a chicken waffle with fried eggs, green papaya and Thai ranch dressing? Or Kimchi cornbread with Chinese bacon, eggs, and fermented chilli hollandaise? Uh huh. Of course you do.

The Drinks:

You’ll want to know about the sours, of course — yes, there will be lots of fresh, new twists on the original menu so you can quench that chicken thirst the best way you know how. Having tried (cough) all of them at the original two branches we are ready and waiting for some exciting new serves.

The Damage:

Regular Chick ‘n’ Sours prices, so £10–12 for a sandwich, £6–8 for a starter and £4–ish for a side. Sours are around £6–7.

In a Nutshell:

These guys are some of our favourites in the biz and we can’t wait to see what fun they’re going to cook up in that development kitchen. Carl Clarke said of the opening, ‘If Noma can go to Mexico, we can go to Brixton! We’ve always felt that Chick ‘n’ Sours would fit right in in this vibrant part of South London.’ Amen to that.
