Baba G’s Bhangra Burger Pop Up

OPENED 24 DAYS AGO

Spiced burger pedlars Baba G’s Bhangra Burger have moved into a shipping container on Finsbury Avenue Square, for a 14 month-long pop-up.

These guys have been on the street food scene for nearly a decade now and we love their sloppy, towering burgers, packed with Indian flavours.

Bhangra Burger

The Spot:

This is the third fixed spot for Baba G’s Bhangra Burger (the other two are at Pop Brixton and KERB Camden) and it’s inside one of the shipping containers on Finsbury Avenue Square. They’re a lot shinier and much more ‘City’ than those in Pop Brixton, however.

Bhangra Butternut Squash Curry

The Food:

Regulars at Bhangra Burger will be delighted to see lots of classics on the menu including their Naanwhiches, and the Crazy Lamb Jalfrezi, which is their signature spiced lamb patty served in a buttermilk naan-style bun with a chilli pickle and mint and cumin raita. The chicken tikka version comes crispy, with tamarind sauce raita and mango, and the veggie paneer is two wedges of golden brown paneer, sandwiching spinach flavoured with fenugreek.

Not enough spice for ya? You’ll be needing the Baba’s Naga Delhi Double – that involves two patties (lamb), a crispy onion bhaji and one of the world’s hottest chillies, the Naga, hidden within Baba’s chilli pickle burger sauce. Remember to pick up extra napkins to mop your brow…

If you’re not into meat ‘n’ carbs then they’ve got a range of Baba Bowls too, filled with aromatic curries, like a turmeric and cardamom butternut squash number, with aubergine pickle and coconut yoghurt.

Bhangra Naanwich

The Drinks:

It’s soft drinks only right now, as Baba G waits to receive an alcohol licence (due within the next 10 days).

The Damage:

A magnificent Baba G’s Naanwich or burger will set you back £7-10.

In a Nutshell:

These guys do bold flavours and lots of them, turning out gloriously large, messy sandwiches and burgers that will kick start even the most jaded of taste buds.
