10am: Breakfast at The Quality Chop House Café
This box-fresh, just-opened expansion from The Quality Chop House is the perfect place to begin your day of eating and drinking. They’re working with the peerless Hedone Bakery on an incredible selection of pastries including croissants, pain au chocolat and a mesmerising swirly raisin Danish. Grab an Allpress coffee alongside and sit back with the papers or one of the many cookbooks they have on display, to get you in the mood for the day ahead.

11.30am: Spitalfields Market
It’s time to explore what’s new at Spitalfields and work up that appetite. This historic east London market has lots of shops and stalls, plus there are different attractions depending on which day you visit; on Fridays check out the Startisans Market, a weekly pop up which showcases new startup businesses and artisans. You could be among the very first to try their produce.
For lunch, you’ll be exploring The Kitchens, a hot new collection of street food traders in the heart of the market. Here you’ll find pan-fried soup dumplings from Dumpling Shack, stuffed pita from Berber & Q Shawarma Bar and tacos from Breddos. Leave room for dessert though, because doughnuts lie ahead…

2pm: Take a Tour of Central London’s Newest Food Shops
Start at The Japan Centre’s new flagship store off Leicester Square and take in the staggering range of Japanese tea, noodles and sweets (you can pick up snacks in the deli section, too). From there head to Soho’s Maitre Choux for shiny, playfully topped eclairs, before on to the new Beak Street branch of Bread Ahead for a coffee and perhaps a cheeky doughnut.

5pm: Cocktails at The Mulwray
This cocktail bar is one of our very favourite new London openings, and part of the new, three-storey Blue Posts on Rupert Street. When you arrive, head past the bar downstairs and up the stairs to the plush cocktail lounge. We recommend ordering the ‘Ixcalli Tears’, which blends Mezcal, red pepper, honey, ginger, lime, Falernum and habanero chilli. To be honest, though, every drink on the menu is excellent – yes, we have selflessly tested them all for you.

7pm: Dinner at Nuala
One of London’s hottest recent openings, this modern take on the Irish bar and restaurant was recently opened by Niall Davidson, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse, and it’s the perfect place to round off your day of gastronomic exploration.
Here you can eat as little or as much as you fancy, ordering snacks like bone marrow doughnuts or cod’s roe with veggie crackers for a light bite, right up to sharing dishes including suckling pig or king crab for those with more appetite.
9pm: Time to catch your final ride…
But remember, there’s no need to wait outside – track your driver’s arrival on the Gett app, so you can take your time finishing that all-important nightcap.
