Kricket

OPENED 138 DAYS AGO

Kricket, a modern Indian restaurant, has just opened up its first permanent home in Soho, adding even more flavour to the restaurants of Central London.

Kricket, from Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell, started at POP Brixton in June 2015; you know, unofficial BOXPARK mark II for South London. After enjoying a successful run serving Indian small plates and liquid libations, the lads have opened their first permanent home.

Their new Soho home (on Denman Street) has been designed by Run for The Hills, featuring an impressive interior mural from British Indian artist Natasha Kumar.

Culture and Flavour

Kricket Soho London

Over two floors, Kricket is both a bar and restaurant. We wouldn’t call the space expansive so anticipate a vibrant and intimate dining experience; in homage to the traditional Indian dining style and spirit.

The menu features breads, meats and fish. Dishes include curious options like delica pumpkin, makhani sauce, fresh paneer, halnut crumble and puffed wild rice; and Cornish crab meen moilee, castle Franco and peanuts, to name a few.

In the basement, a snug bar serves Indian-inspired drinks which are certainly worth a whirl if you’re partial to a unique cocktail or two.

Juicy Lady Marmalade

Will and Rik have put together a seasonal cocktail menu focusing on the flavours and spices of India.

The Anar Dana looks like a refreshing start to an evening with tequila, pomegranate, cardamom bitters, rose water and soda while the Old Narangi (bourbon, marmalade and orange) looks like the ticket for post dinner enjoyment. It all sounds very tempting, right? Don’t panic about reservations though as the boys only take walk-ins.

Kricket Soho London

It would be fair to say Central London’s ever-impressive Indian dining options are growing as Kricket joins the recently opened Jamavar and Cinnamon Bazaar. Find more restaurant openings on our Just Opened Map.
