Giant Robot

OPENED 250 DAYS AGO

Giant Robot is the latest venture from Street Feast, an ‘eating and drinking rooftopia’ open 7 days a week at Crossrail Place, Canary Wharf.

Some of the most well known and popular street food traders have set up shop here. Plus, there’s three bars, all with the added bonus of incredible city views.

The Spot:

Crossrail Place sits above the tracks at Canary Wharf on the Crossrail line. The street food market, one of East London’s best new places to eat, has panoramic views from the outdoor wrap-around terrace for all day drinking and dining. The feel they’ve gone for is “spaceship engine room meets art-deco cruise liner,” with a futuristic but luxurious look.

The Food:

Giant Robot is starting off with a handful of street food traders, but we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before that changes.

Little José
A bite-size tapas bar by José Pizarro, whose restaurants in Bermondsey and Broadgate are already serving delicious Spanish dishes. Expect similarly delicious fare here, with spicy prawn fritters, pork meatballs and manchego, accompanied by plenty of sherry.

Yum Bun
Super light, soft, squidgy buns are what Yum Bun does best. The buns are regularly changed to ensure fresh, seasonal produce is used, including British pork and MSC certified fish. The beef short rib with sticky aubergine is wondrous, as is the crispy aromatic tofu bun with black bean mayo.

Thunderbird
The all-new chicken shop from the kings of wings, BBQ Lab. You can expect some of their classic American-inspired wings, along with a load of delicious new treats, such as their fried chicken burger with rosemary maple aioli.

Bob’s Lobster
The Bob’s Lobster guys provide the ultimate in seafood heaven, serving up “seafood extravaganzas on a paper plate.” Along with lobster, they serve a heavenly selection of ahi tuna tacos, crab and shrimp rolls. Choices, choices…

Yumplings
Another offering from the team behind Yum Bun, Yumplings does dumplings. Easy to remember, and once you’ve tasted them, you’ll never forget these steamed little parcels of goodness. They’re served with spicy dipping sauces, too.

The Drinks:

There’s a 360-degree Island Bar serving cocktails with a view. If beer is more your thing, there’s also a 38-tap container bar with draught beers and craft cans. Each street food vendor also has a small selection of drinks.

The Damage:

It’s street food, so it’s supposed to be affordable. It all just depends on how hungry you are, or how carried away you get at the bar.

In a Nutshell:

Giant Robot boasts a tantalising array of street food and incredible views within one of London’s most futuristic new buildings. There’s really no excuse not to drop in when it’s open 7 days a week.
