Cure and Cut

OPENED August 08th, 2016

Cure and Cut, a new deli-café specialising in house-smoked pastrami, has just opened in Seven Dials.

One of the latest food trends to hit London is Jewish-style deli food. And now visitors to Covent Garden can get in on it too! Cure and Cut deli is a collaboration between restauranter Jerome Armit and chef Rufus Wickham, previously of Sam’s Brasserie, Tante Clair, Bibendum and Kettner’s. The 30-cover restaurant has counter seats on the ground floor and tables in the downstairs dining room. It also provides a takeaway service for the busy lunchtime crowd, as well as a delivery service.

The all-day restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Early risers can get their fix of smoked meat with the smoked bacon and cinnamon roll. Alternatively, opt for the house smoked pig’s belly bacon, double egg and cheese muffin. Chase it down with a house-brewed cordial, which changes every week, or a fresh juice. Later on in the day, diners can choose from their menu of freshly cut sandwiches, which features some all-time classics. The Pastrami on Rye contains home smoked pepper cured Angus pastrami, pickles and Tewkesbury mustard on soft rye. Diners can also try the pastrami in their Reuben Sandwich, with melted Emmental and sauerkraut, grilled on soft rye.

With a great selection of farm to counter seasonal salads, those after a lighter option are also well taken care of. There are some intriguing combinations on offer. How does roast aubergine with tahini dressing, toasted sesame seeds, pomegranate, hibiscus flowers and basil sound? Or charred cauliflower, roasted beetroot and pistachios? End your meal on a sweet note with a summery dessert like key lime pie, tiramisu or blueberry cheesecake.

Also in the area are coffee institutions Monmouth Coffee, and raw food café, Wild Food Café, in Neal’s Yard.
